Top Film & Television Apps in Hungary: Q1 2022 Performance

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five film and television apps in Hungary exhibited diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an insightful overview of the app performance on a unified platform.

Netflix saw a consistent weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $2.8K in the week of February 7. Weekly downloads for the app started at 16.4K in late December, but gradually declined to about 8.9K by the end of March. Active users also saw a downward trend, decreasing from 352.4K to 283.5K over the quarter.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies experienced a significant surge in weekly revenue, reaching $27.8K in the week of March 7. Downloads showed a similar pattern, with an initial spike to 37.4K in early March and maintaining strong numbers around 34.4K by the end of the month. Active users increased steadily, peaking at 60.7K in the final week of March.

HBO GO had a modest revenue performance, with a peak of $56 in early January. Downloads started strong with 10.9K in mid-January but saw a sharp decline to just 418 by early March. Active users showed a significant drop from 128.1K at the beginning of the quarter to 53.2K by the end of March.

TV2 Live did not generate any revenue during the quarter. However, downloads saw a notable peak of 7.2K in late January, with fluctuations throughout the quarter, ending at 6.1K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, peaking at 37.1K in the last week of March.

Telekom TV GO also did not report any revenue. Downloads showed a steady trend, starting at 4.1K in late December and stabilizing around 2.2K by the end of March. Active users remained consistent, fluctuating slightly around 8.8K to 9.2K throughout the quarter.
